Approach

Built a portable ESP32 device with a MEMS microphone, RFID reader, and OLED display, paired with a FastAPI backend that simplifies captured clinical speech while preserving dosage and timing details, iterating from a breadboard prototype to a finished 3D-printed handheld enclosure.

Challenge

Going from a spoken idea to a physical printed object normally requires manually modeling the part in CAD software.

Approach

Built a dual-workflow system on an Orange Pi 5 Pro kiosk housed in a SolidWorks-designed enclosure: Meshy AI and Three.js for creative objects, and You.com, Tavily, Llama 3.3, OpenSCAD, and CuraEngine for dimensioned engineering parts, sent to a Neptune 4 Pro 3D printer.

Result

Won Best Use of You.com at WizardHacks 2026, built in about seven hours.

Challenge

Raw pose-estimation output like joint keypoints isn't useful feedback for someone actually trying to fix their lifting form.

Approach

Used MoveNet to track body position during strength training, then Qwen3-8B to translate that raw keypoint data into plain-language coaching feedback for both athletes and coaches, delivered through a React interface and housed in a SolidWorks-designed enclosure.

Built an ESP32 and RFID reader for fast physical check-in inside a SolidWorks-designed enclosure, with Arduino and Python services syncing records to a Supabase backend, separating quick physical interactions from persistent digital data.

Challenge

Drivers often don't recognize their own drowsiness in time to react, and false alarms from single-frame detection erode trust in a warning system.

Approach

Used Python and OpenCV to track eye state continuously, distinguishing a normal blink from sustained eye closure by weighing repeated measurements, mounted in a custom 3D-printed camera mount for a consistent viewing angle.

Result

Won 2nd Place at VikingHacks 2025.

Built a face-recognition kiosk running face-api.js on a Raspberry Pi 4B, an ESP32-driven touchscreen for case info, and Arduino-controlled LED/buzzer feedback, split into independently-testable modules to fit a one-weekend build.

Result

Won 1st Place at the East Bay Hackathon.

Waste-collection routes are typically run on fixed schedules rather than actual need, wasting fuel and labor on partially-full bins.

Approach

Built an ESP32-based prototype combining infrared, load-cell, and moisture sensors inside trash cans to identify fill level, weight, and wet waste, then pitched it to more than ten municipalities and consulting firms.

Result

Won 1st place at the Central Valley Business Expo, securing $2,500 in funding to continue development.

Arduino Uno-based system using a DHT11 sensor and soil moisture sensor to monitor conditions, automatically triggering relay-controlled pumps below a moisture threshold, with an LCD for live feedback and a weather-resistant Fusion 360 enclosure.
